Pearls to Pampers

Long Weekend

I’ve taken a little unintentional break from the blog.  We had a 4-day weekend around here (Andrew was off work Friday AND Monday) so today—Wednesday—I’m finally getting back on schedule.

This weekend we packed up 356793 baby things and our 2 tiny adult suitcases (seriously—the kids took priority on the suitcase front!) and headed to Ligonier for 4 days of relaxation and time with family.

Now, I say “relaxation”… while there really is no such thing with 2 under 2 BUT, we really did relax.  Friday morning I went on a mom-date sans children to get my hair done.  While in Ligonier we had so many family members who love our girls so much, and were so very helpful.

A few scenes from our vacation:

The first evening we were there Ellie slept for hours and hours while Gramps held her.  She was in her GLORY!  This little girl loves to be held.  And I think Gramps had an “ok” time too (wink, wink).

Andrew and I spent a little time out on the porch sitting quietly with our newest bundle.  This was Ellie’s first trip to the mountains!

Andrew enjoyed two days of golf at the gorgeous Rolling Rock Country Club.  He was in HEAVEN.

Charlotte is quickly becoming Popop’s little sweetheart.  They played together, watched Barney AND Popop took her to Idlewild park—Charlotte’s first amusment park!  She loved it..and even went on a few rides.

CG being goofy with daddy and Uncle Bradford..she loves all the attention!

Our family attempt at a picture before leaving.  It was SO HUMID..so we were all a little sweaty at this point.  But we were happy, well rested and ready to head into this busy week.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: there is nothing better than family, and we are so blessed to have some amazing people in our corner.  Thank you Gramps and Granny for another wonderful weekend :)
