Gramps’ 80th Birthday Celebration(s)
I mentioned yesterday that we spent the weekend celebrating my Gramps’ birthday. We had TWO days of celebrations:
Saturday night we enjoyed a family dinner at The Duquesne Club. We took a family photo, shared memories during cocktail hour(s), and ended with a delicious meal where we presented Gramps with a few gifts and lots of laughs. Charlotte stayed up until 10:45pm that night! And THEN she slept in until 10am the next morning. She is a party girl!

An outtake of the family photo. Charlotte was a trooper during the session. We are sure to get a GREAT photo!

Hanging out during cocktail hour :)

My three siblings and I presented Gramps with a photo album: 80 Memories with our Gramps. My brother Richard and I had so much fun putting it together and going through old memories. And I just think this photo is so sweet :)

Make a wish!
On Sunday we headed downtown for a river boat cruise on The Empress…with 200 of Gramps’ friends and former colleagues! The day was incredible. An awesome band, good food, red white and blue theme, and the whole party was in honor of our Gramps.

The birthday boy looking SO handsome in his seer sucker suit.

Proud wife looks on as speeches were made honoring Gramps.

The second most handsome man (behind Gramps) in attendance: my Uncle Pete!

Charlotte found a “size friend” to dance with—and BOY did she dance up a storm!

Me with two of my siblings. We are SO proud of our family, and our Gramps!

We really had the time of our lives….and we hope Gramps did too. Now next year we will have to TOP this party at 81! (HA!)
This weekend was the definition of pure JOY. Thanks to my family for such a spectacular time :)
